2018 RE-AMP Network Superstar

In June 2018, Huda Alkaff, Founder and Director of Wisconsin Green Muslims received the 2018 RE-AMP Network Superstar recognition.

The RE-AMP Network consists of over 130 nonprofits and foundations across eight Midwestern states working on climate change and energy policy with the goal of reducing global warming pollution economy-wide 80% by 2050.

On April 28, 2018, Huda Alkaff, Founder and Director of Wisconsin Green Muslims received the Inaugural 2018 Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education (WAEE) Eco-Justice Award.

The WAEE Eco-Justice Award is for individuals, agencies, and organizations taking steps to work towards equity and environmental justice in Wisconsin.  Presented in recognition of leadership in developing and implementing programs that are inclusive, culturally relevant, working towards equitable internal practices and representing the diverse communities in our state.

This Sierra Club chapter serves Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington and Ozaukee Counties. Aaron Mair, President of the National Sierra Club, and Dianne Dagelen, 2016 Chair of the Sierra Club Great Waters Group, Wisconsin and their Executive Committee presented this award to Huda.

In celebration of the 4th Annual Wisconsin Interfaith Energy Awareness Month (October 2010), the Islamic Environmental Group of Wisconsin in partnership with Wisconsin Interfaith Power & Light helped to empower an estimated saving of 235,365 kilowatt hours of energy, $34,519 in energy costs, and prevented 450,906 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions!

During October 2007, the 1st Annual Wisconsin Interfaith Energy Awareness Month, the Islamic Environmental Group of Wisconsin and Wisconsin Interfaith Climate & Energy Campaign met their goal of obtaining 100 household pledges to use energy efficient CFLs. They helped to empower a saving of 84,600 kWh of energy, $7,868, and prevented 122,700 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions
